Dear PAIR Friend,

Happy holidays! Thanks to your support this year, PAIR has been on the forefront of protecting the rights of asylum seekers and immigrants who turn to us for help as they face draconian changes to immigration laws.

Despite the challenges, PAIR remains committed to its mission to serve asylum-seekers and those unjustly detained by the immigration authorities. PAIR will stand by clients, providing critical services such as: asylum intake; legal orientation in detention; full representation for asylum seekers and individuals applying for other humanitarian forms of relief, and community "Know Your Rights" presentations to inform immigrants of their basic due process rights. We will recruit, train, and mentor as many volunteers as possible to serve clients. It is a time of great uncertainty, but with your help, PAIR will continue to do the important work needed to achieve transparency and fairness in the immigration laws for our clients and immigrants in the greater community.

By helping PAIR to serve over 1,500 immigrants, you have strengthened PAIR's resilience and sustainability during this difficult year. You have also supported our community outreach work. Today, PAIR has conducted over 500 "Know Your Rights" presentations to 12,000 community members, empowering them with legal updates and ways to assert their rights. Because of you, PAIR has improved the lives of thousands of asylum-seekers and unjustly detained immigrants. One such survivor is "Emmanuel," a political activist from Venezuela who was targeted and assaulted by government forces. Emmanuel connected with PAIR while in immigration detention, where PAIR met and screened his asylum case. With great courage and the support of his pro bono team, Emmanuel was finally granted asylum relief in 2018. He is now rebuilding his life in the U.S. and has finally reunited with his family.

Your work and generous contributions have helped countless PAIR clients find justice, hope, and safety in otherwise challenging times. Let's continue working together to make a difference in the lives of immigrants! Our goal this month is to raise $45,000 so that PAIR can serve more clients in need. You can donate online here or by mailing your gift by check to the PAIR office. Every dollar you give to PAIR is leveraged through the work of the PAIR staff and dedicated volunteers. We couldn't do our work without you. Thank you so much for your support!

Sincerely,

Anita P. Sharma
